Mỹ có một trong những ngành công nghiệp xây dựng lớn nhất thế giới, nhưng phần lớn các công ty xây dựng lớn nhất thế giới có trụ sở tại châu Âu và Trung Quốc. Các công ty này đang thúc đẩy sự phát triển ở các quốc gia như Trung Quốc, Ấn Độ và Trung Đông. Vấn đề là đúc rút từ danh sách này được cái gì cho doanh nghiệp xây dựng Việt Nam thì không hiểu ý chủ thớt lắm ?

Xét chung thì xã hội phát triển, kinh tế phát triển thì đầu tư xây dựng nhiều, tuy nhiên tương lai lại lệ thuộc vào sự đổi mới công nghệ, cải thiện năng suất để giảm giá thành cạnh tranh. Xét riêng ở Việt Nam với làn sóng FDI tăng mạnh, giá nhân công tăng mạnh, kéo theo giá thành xây dựng cũng tăng ... do vậy chuyện các công ty không thay đổi kịp sự biến động này thì phải tém dẹp thế thôi.

Hiện tại thì phải nói rằng biên lợi nhuận của doanh nghiệp xây dựng Việt Nam rất thấp, tầm 7%, thì việc tái cơ cấu, tái đào tạo là điều không dễ, nhiều nhà thầu xây dựng Việt Nam đang ăn vào thịt mình là chuyện bình thường.
